POWERPLAY exposes Govt claims with documented evidence

ISLAMABAD: ARY News Anchor Arshad Sharif on Sunday in his program POWERPLAY exposed claims of the government through documented evidence.

These evidences presented at a time when children of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz, have to submit their responses on Monday to the Supreme Court (SC) regarding claims in Panama Papers. If they failed to submit their responses it would be assumed that the allegations are true.

Arshad Sharif said the poor fears from Federal Investigation Agency and National Accountability Bureau, while these institutions are restricted to hold investigation against the most influential people of Pakistan.

He showed a document submitted by FIA in the SC which says FIA has not been conferred any powers to investigate and prosecute matter relating to the holders of public office.

While, last year on 14th of July, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said the prime minister had given his statement to FIA in Asghar Khan case for investigation.

Arshad Sharif questioned whether the minister had closed chapter of this case as well by handing it over to FIA, while FIA claims that prime minister does not come in its jurisdiction for investigation.

“FIA said it could hold inquiry from government servants of Grade BS-1 to BS-22 only,” the documents revealed.

FIA said it has no jurisdiction to initiate legal action against the holders of public office being not defined in the FIA Act.
