Haider’s death came several days after the passing away of Humayun Khurram, who had clinched the gold medal in the South Asian Bodybuilding Championship.
According to Khurram’s family, the bodybuilder died when he was consuming a meal. They denied that he was taking any steroids.
Matloob Haider was to take part in Mr. Gujranwala competition scheduled to be held within a few days.
Bodybuilder Hamid Ali, hailing from Sialkot, also died on 3rd April in mysterious circumstances while Gujranwala’s Rizwan had also died in similar fashion as well.
The main cause of death of the bodybuilders has not yet been determined but the consumption of banned substances could be a reason.
