Gujranwala police arrest 20 accused of violence

GUJRANWALA: Gujranwala Police on Monday rounded up 20 people involved in plundering goods on pretext of protest against Youhanabad incident, ARY News reported.

According to details, angry protesters blocked the GT Road by burning tyres and smashed the windscreens of vehicles with batons.

Police also baton charged the violent protesters and apprehended 20 people for plundering public property in the name of protest.

Police spokesperson said that nobody will be allowed to violate the law in pretext of protest. He warned that whoever found guilty of violence will be dealt with iron hand.

Moreover, a case was registered against the arrested accused involved in plundering goods during the protest today.
