Addressing a seminar here, he said that both ports were of equal importance to the region and the Chabahar port is not meant to counter any other project.

Contradicting to the perception that Chabahar pact recently signed between Iran, India and Afghanistan was against any country, the envoy said: “It is not limited to these three countries, and even Pakistan and China are welcomed to be a part of it.”

Hunardoost denied reports that Afghan Taliban leader Mullah Mansour was coming from Iran while he was killed in a drone strike in Balochistan. He said that Iran will never allow its soil to be used for terrorism.

“Iran would never allow any spy agency or terrorist group to use Iranian territory against Pakistan,” he said.
