A recent medical report indicated the condition of his knee as unsatisfactory, putting shadow on prospects of his participation in Pakistan’s upcoming England tour.
Hafeez sustained a knee injury during the Asia Cup Twenty20 in Bangladesh. The injury worsened as he participated in the ICC World T20 in India after the Asia Cup. He missed two group matches of Pakistan against New Zealand and Australia.
“Working hard to regain fitness as soon as possible,” talking to media the batsman said.
Hafeez has been Pakistan’s most reliable opening batsman in shorter format of the sport.
He also skippered during Pakistan’s World T20 campaign in Sri Lanka in 2012.
Pakistan will play four Tests, five ODIs, and a T20 match in the upcoming England tour.
