MUZAFFARNAGAR: The sister-in-law of film actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has filed a case against him alleging that he, her husband and their siblings harassed her for dowry at Budhana town, police said.
Afrin, wife of Minazuddin, brother of Nawazuddin, on Thursday complained to police that her husband, brothers-in-law Nawazuddin, Faizuddin, Majuddin and sister-in-law Saima were harassing her for dowry, they said.
Reports said that the woman approached Superintendent of Police Rakesh Jolly in this regard and told that she got married to Minazuddin on May 31 and since then her in-laws were making demands for dowry.
Police initially didn’t register a case, but later filed a FIR saying prima facie allegations were found to be true.
In January this year, the actor had landed in a trouble after the incident took place over a dispute regarding parking space and he allegedly assaulted a woman
The actor was charged under Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The mother of the complainant had said that they had served several notices to Nawazuddin Siddiqui to vacate the parking spot.
She claimed that he and his brother used abusive language and physically attacked her daughter.
Recently the actor was trolled by fans for promoting his film ‘Freaky Ali’ with a weird tactic. The actor, who was in Hyderabad to promote his movie, was clicked selling boxers at Char Minar.
