After more than three years, Veena returned to the country. Speaking to media personnel at the airport in Islamabad, she said that baseless cases had been registered against her. However, she felt safe due to the presence of General Raheel Sharif and the judiciary.
Veena Malik has been infamous for her bold statements and alleged affairs in the media. After her marriage and subsequent birth of two children, the Pakistani actress led a seemingly quite life in Dubai with her husband, musician and businessman Asad Bashir Khattak.

“My father was a soldier and I am also the daughter-in-law of a soldier,” she said. Veena also said that she had no plans to go to India, she wanted to live and die in Pakistan. She also felicitated Imran Khan and Abdul Sattar Edhis efforts for humanity.

Veena Malik had earned the ire of Pakistanis when she had appeared on a television show, after which she was issued a jail term for alleged acts of ‘blasphemy’. The actress had since then been in Dubai and also toured a couple of countries. Veena stated her desire to resume her acting career, and said that she would start with drama offers that she had said no to in the past. According to her public relations officer, the actress plans to star her own film company, amid several other projects that she is part of at the moment. “Some things in connection with Veena’s visit are secret. But she will start her showbiz career with dedication and she is also hosting a TV programme. She is among the top actresses of Lollywood and has some good opportunities related to film projects and hopefully she will start her own film company,” he said.

She revealed that she had produced a new song for the martyrs of Army Public School Peshawar and operation Zarb-e-Azb.
