Heavy rains leave 75 dead in Punjab

LAHORE: Heavy rain continued to wreak havoc in different areas of Pujab province, claiming at least 75 lives, ARY News reported.

Monsoon rains this year have brought death and destruction for the people of Pakistan’s most populated province. Roof and wall collapse incidents are adding to the misery of people already wary of administration’s poor strategy.

Three of a family were killed in Lahore’s Iqbal Town in a a roof collapse incident. Four in Gojar Khan, Nine in Rawalpindi, Eleven in Sialkot and Pasroor were killed in similar incidents.

Four people died of electrocution in Chiniot, Kasur and Borewala after rain while five citizens were killed in Faisalabad.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s armed forces are busy in rescue and relief operations in province.
