Heimtextil Expo 2015 begins in Germany

KARACHI/FRANKFURT: Heimtextil Expo 2015 kicked off in Frankfurt on Wednesday where Pakistan’s trade volume is expected to rise up to $ 2.5 million this year, ARY News reported.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Germany, Syed Hassan Javed said that the Pakistani Embassy has devised a strategy to double Pakistan’s textile exports to Europe next year, while it is expected that these exports will increase up to $ 100 billion in the next five years.

He told that the GSP-Plus status awarded to Pakistan by the European Union (EU) is yielding positive results and Pakistan’s textile exports were increased by 19 percent in the past ten months.

He said that Pakistan has the capacity of exporting textile goods worth of $ 100 billion in the European markets, provided if the law and order situation is improved there and the energy crisis is reduced.

Javed told that Heimtextil will request the administrators of Messe Frankfurt to increase room for Pakistani exporters.

The organizer of Heimtextil, Hadi Salahuddin told that Pakistan is the fourth largest exporter country in the Heimtextil, whose 219 textile companies have been exhibiting their goods at the trade fair.
