Helping hand: Bahria Town gives Rs 50m to Edhi

KARACHI: In a humanitarian gesture, Bahria Town Foundation chairman on Friday presented a cheque of Rs 50 million to renowned social worker Abdul Sattar Edhi, ARY News reported.

Mr. Edhi’s headoffice in Lyari was recently robbed by armed miscreants in a broad daylight, wherein muggers made off with millions of rupees including gold ornaments. Police have so far failed to recover the looted amount and articles.

Bahria Town founder and business tycoon Malik Riaz Hussain had vowed to help Mr. Edhi after he suffered a major financial loss in mugging.

Bahria Town chairman Zain Malik, son of Malik Riaz, today met Mr. Edhi in Karachi and presented a cheque of Rs 50 million.

He assured Edhi of every possible cooperation by his foundation for social works.

Zain said said Bahria town was standing with Mr. Edhi in this testing time. He appealed all the Philanthropists to come forward  and help Mr. Edhi

Abdul Sattar Edhi thanked the Bahria Town founder and chairman for assisting his Foundation, which will help the social welfare organisation to continue its mission to serve humanity.
