Hoax caller warns bombing Multan’s historic Qalla Kohna
MULTAN: Local police acting on a telephone call threat rushed to secure historical Qalla Kohna Qasim Bagh of Multan.
An unidentified caller had threatened on the police helpline 15 to detonate bombs in historic Qalla Kohna within two hours, sources said.
A large contingent of police cordoned off Qasim Bagh and closed the park for general public.
The police and the bomb disposal squad conducted a search operation in Qalla and surrounding areas but the call proved to be a hoax.
Police has constituted teams to trace and arrest the hoax caller.
Qalla Kohna Qasim Bagh in Multan is a historic landmark of the ancient city.
Bhakkar search operation
Moreover, police launched a search operation in Kalorkot police jurisdiction in Bhakkar and arrested 14 suspects including five proclaimed offenders.
Counter Terrorism Department Mardan arrested a suspect Tilawat Khan. The arrested man said to be a facilitator of terrorists.
The raid was conducted on the information received from an arrested terror suspect, CTD officials said.
