“How is it fair to link everything to Maulana Ludhianvi?” says Nisar

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudry Nisar Ali Khan on Saturday heavily criticised political bashing by Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) over his meetings with leaders of few banned organisations.

“Everyone ones know what is the issue of PPP with me,” said the interior minister while speaking to media in Kallar Syedan, sub-district of Rawalpindi.

He said it was unfair to link everything to Maulana Ahmad Ludhianvi, chief of the banned Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ).

“How is it fair to link everything to Maulana Ludhianvi?” said Nisar.

The minister continued that people with links to terrorist groups were eliminated, jailed or had fled, but members of groups banned on sectarian basis “who have no cases against them” still live in in the country.

However, he insisted that there was no space for any terror outfit in the country.

Nisar also complained that some media groups were assisting PPP and its ‘propaganda campaign’ again the government.

Regarding a controversial extension of military courts in the country, the interior minister said that deliberations were still being held over the matter.
