This year, people who keep cats or love the pet also celebrated the day on social media by sharing awareness videos and cute photos of their pet cats.
International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW), which started the tradition at least 13 years ago, surpassed everyone by sharing an awareness video at 12AM. A number of other people paid tribute to the lovely creature on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter by sharing GIFs, pictures and videos.
The revelations is that even football clubs are fans of the lovely pet.
