Two wounded in blast near Rangers checkpost in Karachi

KARACHI: At least two people were wounded as a powerful blast occurred near a Rangers checkpost in North Nazimabad on Thursday evening, ARY News reported.

According to details, the explosion occurred close to a flyover near Matric Board Office which spread panic among the masses.

The blast was followed by a power breakdown in the vicinity

Rescue sources told the blast took place near the Rangers checkpost, injuring two people.

Police and Rangers contingents along with Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) members were immediately called in, while the wounded were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

An auto rickshaw was also partially damaged due to the blast. Officials said that the blast resulted due to gas accumulation inside a gutter.
