Nowadays, Bollywood stars starring in Hollywood movies is not such a big deal. Priyanka Chopra continues to dazzle in the American TV series Quantico whereas Irrfan Khan has astounded all with his performance in Jurassic World. There are other actors from the Indian film industry who have refused to star in Hollywood movies and Salman Khan is no exception.
Most recently the Bollywood star talked about the prospect of him starring in a Hollywood movie and said that he was not interested in doing that at the moment. This was due to the fact that he had earned his respect and admiration in the Indian film industry and in Hollywood, he’d have to start all over again.
“I am happy being here. I have earned respect here and it has taken time for me to achieve it. I will have to work again to earn that respect and love there (Hollywood),” said Salman while speaking to the press at an event held in Mumbai. “If the film is related to us (India/Indians) then we will see. But I have no interest in doing Hollywood film. Our Hindi film industry should increase (grow) so much that there should be no comparison. We are happy with our record (box office record) of ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ abroad.”
Salman Khan’s latest film Prem Ratan Dhan Payo stars Swara Bhaskar, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Sonam Kapoor and Salman Khan. The movie has done well worldwide and has grossed Rs 250 crore worldwide. Directed by Sooraj Bharjatya, the movie is Salman Khan’s first after his smash-hit film Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
Perhaps Salman Khan is not interested in a Hollywood flick for the time being. His upcoming movie Sultan is also being eager anticipated by fans.
