I was kidnapped by Al Qaeda operatives: Ali Haider Gillani

ISLAMABAD: Ali Haider Gillani, son of former prime minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani, has said that he was kidnapped by members of Al-Qaeda, ARY News reported on Sunday.

According to details, Ali Haider Gillani said that he has informed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif that he was abducted by Al-Qaeda operatives.

He added that the whole nation should defeat terrorism as a whole.

Gillani stated that there are some facts, regarding his kidnappings, which he will mention in his book. He added that his book will be released in 2017.

It should be noted that Ali Haider Gillani was kidnapped during an election campaign rally on May 9, 2013.

The former prime minister’s son was rescued by Afghan and US forces from Taliban in a joint raid in Ghazni province of Afghanistan on May 10.
