TV presenter, comedian and actor Bushra Ansari while recounting her story of September 06, 1965, says that she was more worried about her hat, which was brought from England, than war.

“I was at school in Lahore. I was 8 then in grade three and Saba Hameed (Family Front actress) was my class-fellow. I used to hang my darling hat, which I carried along, on a door of my class.

“When a bomb exploded, we were ordered to go back to homes. I was too young to fathom what was going on. My grandma lived nearby, so I went to hers. It was then I realized that I had left my hat in school. When people were worried about their lives, I was crying for my hat.”

While speaking during an ARY News program on Defence Day, she also acknowledged the fact that national songs played a pivotal role in the war of 1965. Bushra, who started her career as a child actor in 1960s, sang a national song on this occasion as well.
