Fawad Khan is certainly one of the most talented Pakistani actors to have graced the screens and not only become a sensation in Pakistan but in neighbouring India as well.

The Khoobsurat star recently starred in Kapoor and Sons alongside the very talented young lot of Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra. The movie is doing great and Fawad has received oodles of praise for playing a homosexual in the movie.

“Everyone has a tendency to be gay. But this movie is not about sexuality. It is just about a family that is trying to sort out their differences,” said Fawad while talking to a leading Indian English daily about his role.

Fawad also said that he wasn’t afraid of playing a homosexual character on-screen.
“I don’t think so. A friend of mine gave me the example of Zia Mohyeddin, who is a very famous Pakistani actor. A RADA (Royal Academy of Dramatic Art), UK, graduate, he acted in Lawrence Of Arabia (1962). He also played the role of a eunuch in one of his films. That was a time when people would make fun of eunuchs.”

He also hoped that people would learn to accept homosexuals in the near future.
“Even if someone plays a character like that, why will he or she become an outcast? Give it some years, and things will become normal. In the future, everyone who gets worried about these things (homosexuality) will learn to accept them. If someone is a certain way, he or she just is.”
