Contempt case: IG Sindh tenders unconditional apology once again

KARACHI: Inspector General Sindh Police Ghulam Haider Jamali on Monday submitted an affidavit in the Sindh High Court in a contempt case and tendered unconditional apology once again.

In the last hearing, the SHC had directed IG Sindh and other respondents to submit affidavit with the honourable court.

The hearing was adjourned till December 15.

On May 23, masked and armed policemen had laid a siege around the SHC. The cops had brutally beaten up the guards providing security to Mirza and media persons at the main gate of the SHC building.

The contempt proceedings were initiated against IG Jamali, Karachi AIG Ghulam Qadir Thebo, West DIG Feroze Shah, City SSP Fida Hussain Janwari, Saddar SP Zeeshan Shafiq Siddiqui, SSU incharge Major (retd) Saleem, Legal AIG Faisal Bashir Memon, former SP Raees Abdul Ghani, West Headquarters SP Tahir Noorani, South DIG Dr Jamil Ahmed and SI Jahangir Mahar.

The IG Sindh, in the last hearing, had submitted unconditional apology to the court.
