IHC issues contempt notice to PM Sharif

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday has issued contempt of court notice to Prime Minister Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif, ARY News reports.

IHC Judge Justice Noor-ul-Haq Qureshi issued a contempt of court notice against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif while hearing a case filed by CSP officer Chaudhry Aslam regarding his posting as a commercial counsellor.

Chaudhry Aslam’s lawyer Barrister Afzal, in his arguments, said that the court had issued orders of appointing his client as a commercial counsellor in November 2014 but they have not been complied so far. He also told the court that the Principal Secretary of the Prime Minister had raised objections over the court orders on which the bench summoned the secretary in the next hearing of the case.

Justice Qureshi also said during the hearing that not even the Prime Minister himself knows what is happening in the Prime Minister Secretariat.
