A single bench of the IHC comprises of Justice Noorul Haq Qureshi will hear the bail petitions of the former prime minister.
The lawyers of Yousuf Raza Gillani have filed eight petitions in Islamabad High Court for pre-arrest bails in various cases against him.
An accountability court had recently ordered the arrest of Gillani and former commerce minister Amin Fahim in the multi-billion rupee Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) scam.
The Registrar office of the court had earlier returned the petitions with objection over the absence of the national identity card of the former prime minister.
Gillani’s counsels called him to the court with his identity card to address the court’s objection.
Later, the Chief Justice of IHC accepted petitions for hearing and Justice Noorul Haq Qureshi will hear the case.
