Imran demands govt to send Dr Nawaz abroad

ISLAMABAD: Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan Sunday demanded the government to send Dr Shahid Nawaz abroad for providing him better medical treatment, ARY News reported.

In a statement issued on Sunday evening, Imran Khan strongly condemned the assassination attempt on Dr Shahid Nawaz, who is the Head of Cardiology Department at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS).

He said that his party wishes speedy recovery of Dr Nawaz.

The PTI chairman demanded the government to send the injured doctor abroad to provide him with better medical treatment and facilities.

“The country requires services of Dr Shahid Nawaz”, he stated. “Government should take immediate measures to ensure safety of doctors and other professionals”.

Dr Shahid Nawaz yesterday escaped an assassination attempt on him, however he was critically injured after being shot in the head.
