The police had provided squad to Ismail for security to his election campaign and movements for the purpose of canvassing.
According to ARY News correspondent Kamil Arif, the police asked the PTI leader to return the squad once the polling day ended, but the latter refused.
Ismail deployed his security guards outside his residence and expressed sheer reluctance to let the police squad go.
Sources said police officials urged PTI leader to release police squad vehicles so they could be refueled.
Once the vehicles left for refuelling, they never came back.
