ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Monday said that he opposes the proposed ban on Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) as the party has a number of educated and patriotic leaders in its rank and file, ARY News reported.

Speaking during ARY News show “11th Hour”, the PTI chief claimed that the party produced a great leader like late Azeem Ahmed Tariq and still has some good leaders.

Khan, however, maintained that Altaf Hussain will never relinquish the party chief post and termed Farooq Sattar’s recent announcement of dissociation from Altaf a “necessity”.

The PTI chief praised former Karachi mayor Mustafa Kamal’s Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) and even hinted that a future political alliance with PTI and PSP is very much possible.

Never attacked PTV

Answering a question, PTI chief categorically denied that his party men attacked Pakistan Television or were asked to do so in order to put pressure on government.

“I only came to know about the attack in the morning and then ordered that if a single PTI worker is inside PTV, he or she must come back,” said Imran Khan.

He added that he has never stopped the federal government from taking action against the attackers.
