“To everyone’s surprise, a reference was moved against me in the National Assembly while a dacoit was saved,” Khan told reporters in Karachi late Monday.

Speaker Ayaz Sadiq yesterday had rejected a reference filed by Awami Muslim League (AML) Chief Shaikh Rasheed, requesting to qualify Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif over the Panamagate Sandal.

However, the speaker approved another disqualification reference filed against the PTI chief and later sent it to the Election Commission.

Mr Khan also met workers of the Pakistan Steel Mills yesterday, who have been protesting against the government for non-payment of their salaries for many days.

Chairman PTI has recently launched Ehtesab (accountability) Movement in the country against the governing PML-N and took out a massive rally in Lahore on Saturday against the prime minister and Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, who is also his brother.
