ECP secretary denies filing reference against Imran

ISLAMABAD: Secretary of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has dismissed the rumors of filing a reference against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, ARY News reports

ECP Secretary Babar Yaqoob said that that he has not yet receive any instructions to file a reference against Imran Khan.

Yaqoob also said that the commission will soon hold elections at vacant seats of local councils in Khyber Pakhtunwa (KP).

He added that  the decision of extending the tenure of tribunal judges will be taken on 22nd June.

Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan had said that he welcomed the rumors of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) filing a reference against him

Imran Khan, in a tweet on Friday, said that the reference will help him produce more evidence regarding Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) and ECP’s collusion in the 2013 general election alleged rigging.
