Imran proud of KP lawmakers 'loyalty' in Senate polls

New Khyber Pakhtonkhwa has emerged where lawmakers did not sale their conscience, he told a press conference here.

He added: “I would have dissolved the KP Assembly had I given up to attitude of my lawmakers, but my party members proved they are not for sale.”

Khan said he was resolved of not allowing Senate seat to relative of any of the party member.

He alleged that Rs 40 million were offered for general seat of Senate, followed by Rs 20 million for technocrat and woman seat.

The PTI chief said all leaders knew that Senate seats are sold. “Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zardari were well aware that candidates change loyalty in Senate polls.”

He said no compromise will be made on democracy.

The PTI will launch campaign to demand for Senate polls through direct elections, he added.

He criticized PM’s Saudi visit and asked what ‘national interest’ PM was underlining as excuse for his visit to the Saudi.

He bragged that, “this is the new Khyber Pakhtonkhwa where party candidates [PTI lawmakers] did not surrender their vote to money.”

He said a one particular family used to invest money to bag Senate seats from KP, however this precedent has ended this time.

Khan vowed that PTI would vote neither to PPP nor PML-N for Senate chairmanship. Both the parties make it to assemblies through unfair means, he alleged.

To a question, he said his party would not let government to run and will take to the streets after results of NA-122 by the commission.
