Imran, Siraj meet to melt 'misunderstandings'

ISLAMABAD: In order to reduce recent tension and misunderstandings between Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and Jamat e Islami (JI), a meeting of the chiefs of both the parties has commenced here, ARY News reported.

The PTI chairman Imran Khan reached the residence of deputy chief JI Mian Muhammad Aslam, to hold a meeting with the JI emir, Sirajul Haq.

CM Pervez Khattak, Arif Alvi, Speaker KP Assembly Asad Qaisar and other senior PTI leaders were also accompanied the party chairman on this occasion.

The chiefs of both the allied parties will hold talks pertaining to the political crisis in the country and to clear misunderstandings due to some recent statements issued from both the sides.

A few days ago, Imran Khan had asked the JI emir to stop playing on both sides of the wicket as he was mediating between the government and the defiant PTI on rigging and other issues.

Following the statement of Imran Khan, several PTI leaders had contacted Sirajul Haq, while the JI emir had also conveyed his concerns to the CM Pervez Khattak.

However, Sirajul Haq invited the PTI chairman for hi-tea, to which Khan accepted and reached at the residence of Mian Aslam to discuss the matters.

The meeting is underway and more details will be provided as it concludes.
