Imran thanks army chief for hospital land in Karachi

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Sunday expressed thanks to Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif for granting land for construction of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre in Karachi.

Mr. Khan didn’t shy away from joining the “#ThankYouRaheelSharif” club having thousands of Pakistanis who made no secret of their support to the COAS via aforementioned hashtag.

The hospital was first started in Lahore in 1994 while a second cancer treatment hospital was opened in Peshawar in 2015.

On February 3, the prime minister had said he wasthankful to General Raheel Sharif for taking personal interest in Balochistan.

He stated Balochsitan was rich in mineral resources and “the government is bringing it at par with other provinces.”
