Mr. Khan met Chairman ARY Group Haji Jaan Muhammad, Group Director ARY Digital Network Mahboob Abdul Rauf, Bureau Chief ARY News S. M. Shakeel and others.

He praised the ARY for its firm stand against terrorism.

The PTI chief castigated the Mutahidda Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain for controlling the city for last 23 years with a ‘reign of terror’. He also strongly condemned attack on ARY office by MQM activists.

He was of the view that Altaf’s days were numbered and he could no more keep hold on the city.

The PTI chief underlined that role of media was essential in smooth democratic dispensation. It’s totally undemocratic to silence media for hiding your own misdeeds, said Khan.

The cricketer-turned-politician also censured Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for hiding his corruption under several pretexts.

He accused the PM of threatening journalists for his own mileage. “He uses journalists for his gains in two ways – either he threatens them or bribes them,” he claimed.

He said anyone raising anti-Pakistan slogan should be condemned outrightly as such statements were not acceptable at any cost.

Imran has been in Karachi on a day-long visit and will address a public gathering at the city’s Nishtar Park this evening.
