Imran voices support for extending Rangers’ powers in Karachi

LODHRAN: Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan Tuesday said the people in Karachi are in favor of Rangers, but the criminals want the paramilitary force to withdraw from there, ARY News reported.

Addressing an election rally in Lodhran, the skipper took exception to Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM). He also revealed the names of two of his trusted party members.

Voicing his support for extension in Rangers’ policing powers in Karachi, he said the Karachi populace is in favor of extending the powers.

Khan, however, said if the people in Sindh demand operation in Punjab against corrupt masses, then it should also be held.

He said the process of accountability in Punjab will only be initiated when Tehreek-i-Insaf will come into power there.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced a by-election in NA-154 Lodhran after the disqualification Siddique Baloch.
