Speaking to media personnel, the Interior Minister stated that if Imran Khan wanted, the government was willing to have the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) probe the Panama Papers controversy. He also said that Imran will not be allowed to address the nation via the state-run Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV).

Adopting an aggressive stance, Nisar also forbade the PTI from conducting a public rally at Islamabad’s F-9 park or D-Chowk. According to Chaudhry Nisar, the whole country was available for staging public rallies. “Every single day protests in Islamabad are not tolerable,” he said sternly.

Taking an obvious shot at PPP member Rehman Malik, Chaudhry Nisar said:-

“The Panama Leaks also mentions my predecessor.”

Imran Khan had stated yesterday that he wanted to address the nation through the Pakistan Television Corporation and stated that PTV should make arrangements accordingly. Khan’s address a couple of days ago at the floor of the house in the National Assembly was blocked by PTV. Federal Information Minister Pervez Rasheed had earlier also denied Khan permission to address the nation by stating that only the President and Prime Minister had that right.

Imran had also stated that he would protest with the masses in front of Raiwind House due to the recent Panama Leaks controversy.
