According to Indian media reports the decision has been taken after a suicide attack near Wagah border crossing inside Pakistan in November last year.

The two neighboring countries have a history of uneasy ties since independence in 1947.

The border forces of the two sides have remained engaged in skirmishes across the Working Boundary in Sialkot and at the Line of Control (LoC) in mountainous region of Kashmir.
