India lays blame for LoC firing on Pakistan

NEW DELHI: Putting the entire blame for firing across the Line of Control on Pakistan, Indian Defence Minister Arun Jaitley said on Thursday that Pakistan must stop “unprovoked firing and shelling” across the Line of Control, ARY News reported.

“The violation of LoC ceasefire will cost Pakistan dearly,” admonished the Indian minister while addressing a press conference. Jaitley alleged there could be no peace until Pakistan continued violation LoC ceasefire agreement.

He said India’s paramount duty was to defend its people and territory.

Jaitley said the PM Narendra Modi was monitoring border situation very closely. “I assure you that we won’t let the nation down,” he added.

He was of the view that PM Modi did not need to reply to the events that are taking place on the International Border and LoC, adding army was doing it.
