India lodges protest over ‘border violations’

NEW DELHI: Indian foreign office summoned Pakistan’s deputy high-commissioner in New Delhi to lodge protest against alleged ceasefire violation at the Working Boundary, ARY News reported on Thursday.

Earlier, Indian Defence Minister Arun Jaitley in a media briefing warned Pakistan against the alleged border violations.

The violation of LoC ceasefire will cost Pakistan dearly, the Indian minister warned. Jaitley alleged there could be no peace until Pakistan continued violation LoC ceasefire agreement.

He said India’s paramount duty was to defend its people and territory.

Pakistan has  said that Indian shelling at at the Working Boundary since Monday claimed at least 13 lives and injured scores of others.
