ISLAMABAD: Mashaal Malik, the wife of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front leader Yasin Malik, has said that India is turning the scenic and heavenly valley into a living a living hell for the people of Kashmir.
Malik, while addressing the media after meeting a delegation of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Founders Group led by Akbar S Babar, said that Pakistan should expedite contacts with world powers including USA, China and Russia over the Kashmir issue.
She said that Indian atrocities in Kashmir had reached an extreme and more than five thousand people have been incarcerated in the last three months.
She raised serious concern over the health of her husband who is under arrest by the Indian Army. She revealed that he was under hunger strike since the last two days.
She also revealed that the United Nations had replied to her letter about the health of Yasin Malik, and that UN Human Rights Commission had instructed India to transfer him to a hospital and provide immediate medical treatment.
She thanked the people of Pakistan for their continued support, but called on the need to speed up efforts around the world.
PTI Founders Group Chairman Akbar S Babar criticised Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf for not attending the joint session of parliament on Jammu and Kashmir. He urged the government to install a monument for Kashmir martyrs in Islamabad, and announce civil award for the Hurriyat leaders.
