Indian foreign secretary arrives in Islamabad

Pakistan’s Foreign Office told that the top Indian diplomat is likely to hold talks with Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry, Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz and Special Assistant to Prime Minister Tariq Fatimi.

The Indian Foreign Secretary is also likely to call on Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.

The Pakistan visit of Indian foreign secretary is the part of a regional tour that also includes Bhutan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.

The two sides expected to discuss bilateral issues including Kashmir, Siachin and water disputes during the meeting.

Confidence building measures, people to people contacts and trade matters will also figure during talks between the two sides.

Earlier, upon his arrival to Islamabad, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar was received by senior officials of Foreign Office and Indian High Commission.
