Twenty-five-year old Durga Bhavani was reported dead by her brother to the police, reported IBNLive. Police said some family issues could be the reason behind the woman taking the extreme step.
The deceased cricketer had Andhra Pradesh in the Ranji trophy.
Police is yet to record statement of her husband Satya Prasad, a sports journalist. Her body has been sent for post mortem, the officer said.
According to police, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered and investigations are underway.
