Intelligence agencies asked to keep “eagle eye” on RAW during Muharram

The law enforcement agencies have warned that foul play could be carried out by Indian spy agency Research Analysis Wing (RAW) during Muharram and intelligence agencies have been asked to keep an “eagle eye” on RAW.

According to IGP Ghulam Hyder Jamali, a total of 64,414 policemen would be deployed across different parts of the province.

While formulating a comprehensive security plan for Muharram, the provincial government of Sindh has declared 1,229 majalis, 384 matmi (mourning) processions and 188 tazia processions as most sensitive.

The IGP said the threat level was at a point where it was feared that poisoning of water or food and attackers impersonating LEAs and their vehicles were all possibilities.

“The high-level meeting was informed that there were some terrorist threats from the nexus between sectarian terrorists and anti-state elements.”
