PTI chief Imran Khan met ambassadors of Iran and Saudi Arabia separately along with his delegation. After the meetings had concluded, Imran Khan spoke to media personnel and stated that the recent Iran-Saudi Arabia tensions would have a negative impact on Pakistan.

The PTI chief was of the view that it would be difficult for Pakistan to play a mediator’s role in the Iran-Saudi Arabia tensions while it was a part of the 34-state military alliance. He also said that in the past, rulers had brought the nation into difficulty for the sake of dollars.

Imran stressed on the fact that the government should play a positive role and take steps in diffusing the increasing tensions in the region. It should be borne in mind that Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir is currently in Pakistan and has already met with Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Army Chief General Raheel Sharif.
