Ismail claims to have identified fake polling booths in NA-246

KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) candidate, Imran Ismail on Saturday complained about pre-poll rigging at some places in NA-246 Karachi, however he expressed his confidence in Rangers’ security during the by-polls on April 23, ARY News reported.

Ismail, flanked by party chairman Imran Khan at the presser, claimed to have identified four bogus polling stations in NA-246 to the Secretary ECP, Babar Yaqoob.

He alleged that a polling station exists which is actually an office of APMSO, while in documents it is mentioned that the polling station is situated at a college.

The PTI candidate demanded the ECP to do away with all fake polling booths in the constituency due to witness by-polls on April 23.

He slammed the Muttahida nominee from NA-246 Kunwar Naveed Jamil for opposing the conduct of by-election under a biometric system, saying that Jamil had previously vowed to support every move which assured free and fair contest.

“Whom so ever you may try to run away, be it the presence of Rangers personnel inside and outside the polling stations or biometric system, but do not try to escape the by-election,” Imran Ismail appealed to the MQM.

He once again claimed to end the ‘atmosphere of fear’ in Karachi.

Earlier to him, PTI leader Ali Zaidi alleged that the identity cards are being snatched from residents of NA-246.

He questioned who is taking away the ID cards of the people.

PTI leaders expressed their hopes that the people of the constituency will heavily vote for PTI and end the prolonged ‘political stagnation’ here.
