‘Gandapur-Naeemul Haq issue stands resolved’

KARACHI: Awami Muslim League (AML) Chief Sheikh Rasheed on Friday claimed that the misunderstandings between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Spokesman Naeemul Haq and Secretary General Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Khurram Nawaz Gandapur which arose after the verbal fight has been resolved, ARY News reported.

Talking to ARY News, the AML chief claimed that he played a mediator’s role to resolve the quarrel that took place outside the Supreme Court building on November 03 when Naeemul Haq barred Khurram Nawaz Gandapur from speaking to media.

“Forget it, let it go. Mistakes happen. Do not flare the issue. Both are mature and seasoned politicians. They are senior leaders of cousin political parties,” he said.

Sheikh Rasheed added that leadership of both the parties have also asked the duo to bury the hatchet.

To a query, he said Naeemul Haq could not recognize Gandapur as he never met him before and only talked on telephone.

Earlier on Thursday, talking to ARY News, Gandapur slammed Haq for misbehaving with him.

“First Naeem said ‘Mr. King’ is coming here, please provide him a space. And then he manhandled me,” said the PAT leader.

Gandapur said mutual respect was vital among political partners. He said Naeemul Haq first shoved him and used language that cannot be spoken on-air.

“I asked him to apologize or this matter will drag further,” he told.
