Jhal Magsi: Polling underway in NA-267

JHAL MAGSI: The by-election for the NA-267 Jhal-Magsi constituency has been underway with 16 candidates in the field, ARY News reported on Thursday.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz candidate Nawabzada Khalid Magsi and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Balochistan Organiser Sardar Yar Mohammad Rind are the front-runners engaged in an interesting election contest.

According to sources the polling for the NA-267 was delayed due to unknown reasons at some polling stations including Goth Patri area of Gandhawa.

Around 3000 troops of Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps and 2000 personnel of Levies and police have been deployed on the polling stations in the constituency comprises of Kachi and Jhal Magsi districts of Naseerabad division in Balochistan. The number of registered voters in NA-267 is 1,45,227, the election commission said.

According to the election commission 165 polling stations have been set up in the area and 900 electoral workers have been deployed at 165 polling stations all of which have been declared as sensitive.
