JI leader calls for end to ‘Good MQM, Bad MQM’ narrative

KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan’s central secretary general Liaquat Baloch said on Tuesday that the federal government shall stop patronizing terrorists, ARY News reported.

Expressing his views in an All Parties Conference called at JI’s Idara Noor-e-Haq, Baloch maintained that the government shall discard its ‘Good MQM, Bad MQM’ narrative and move forward to decisively uphold the rule of law.

The JI central leader called for the appointment of a ‘neutral’ Governor Sindh who shall play his role as the prestige of his office demands adding that the actual mastermind of all the terrorism related incidents in Karachi shall be brought to justice.

The conference was organized in the memory of the tragic May 12, 2004 incident which saw more than 45 people killed on the arrival of then Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.

Other speakers at the conference demanded for the registration of an FIR of the May 12 Incident against General (R) Pervez Musharraf and said that it is the responsibility of Sindh Government to register a case against him.
