JI stages protests against blasphemous caricatures today

KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and other religious groups on Friday will stage countrywide protest against the blasphemous caricatures published in French weekly magazine Charlie Hebdo, ARY News reports.

JI Karachi wing leader Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has said that the blasphemous cartoons are reflection of the West’s enmity with Islam.

Asadullah Bhutto termed the caricatures as a conspiracy against the religion.

JI Chief Siraj-ul-Haq has also written a condemnation letter to the French government over the blasphemous caricatures.

It should be noted that the religious parties in the country had announced to protest against the magazine.

The party will also stage protests on Sunday as well.
