Earlier, the seven-member investigation team reached Machh to question Saulat Mirza in view of his video statement, which was emerged a few hours before his scheduled hanging.
Mirza was convicted by a court in triple murder including managing director of KESC Shahid Hamid, his driver and body guard.
The JIT comprises of seven members including officials of Sindh Police, Sindh Rangers, Intelligence Bureau (IB), FIA, MI, ISI and a member of CID Police.
The home department of Balochistan has directed the Machh Jail officials to extend full cooperation to the investigation team.
Stringent security measures were taken at Machh jail when the investigation team’s convoy of six vehicles arrived at the jail. Security was stepped up in and around the prison with deployment of police, Balochistan Constabulary and Rapid Response Force at the jail.
Saulat Mirza was scheduled to be executed on March 19 but emergence of his video statement before hours of his execution, the President deferred the sentence for 72 hours, which was later further put off for one month.
