Joint parliamentary session resumes in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: The joint session of the Parliament resumed in Islamabad today with Speaker Ayaz Sadiq in the chair, ARY News reported.

The joint session is being convened to discuss Yemen situation and to reach a consensus on the debate whether Pakistan should get involved in Saudi-led campaign in Yemen or not.

Meanwhile, the government has convened a special meeting of the heads of parliamentary parties today to discuss a draft resolution on the Yemen crisis to be tabled in the joint session of the parliament.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is also expected to give a policy statement on Yemen crisis in the parliament session.

Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Imran Khan will not attend the session, said sources.
