Joint Session of Parliament over Yemen conflict on Monday

ISLAMABAD: The government has decided to summon joint session of the parliament over Yemen conflict on Monday, ARY News reported.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif presiding over a high level meeting on Yemen situation said that Pakistan wants a peaceful settlement of the conflict.

The Prime Minister said that Pakistan fully supports the security of Saudi Arabia.

Nawaz Sharif has asked President Mamoon Hussain to convene a joint session of the Parliament on April 6 to discuss the Yemen situation.

Earlier, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif chaired a high level meeting on Yemen situation.

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif and Prime Minister’s Special Advisor for Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, who had visited Saudi Arabia with a delegation recently, briefed about their meetings with the top Saudi officials.

The top civil and military leadership discussed the crisis and possible role of Pakistan in the meeting held at the PM House.

The meeting also discussed the evacuation of Pakistani nationals stranded in Yemen. The Prime Minsiter directed for all out efforts for evacuation of all Pakistani citizens trapped in the conflict.
