Thousands of JUI-F activists rallied from Regal Chowk to Numaish roundabout in protest against killing of their secretary general for the Sindh chapter. They staged sit-in at busy Numaish intersection, leading to massive traffic jams on major arteries.
Speaking on the occasion, Nasir Mehmood, son of Khalid Mehmood Soomro, said if killers of his father were not nabbed, then JUI-F would block all entry and exit points of Larkana on death anniversary of Benazir Bhutto on December 27.
Dr. Khalid Soomro was shot dead in Sukkur on November 29 when he was leaving a mosque attached to a madrassah after offering Fajr (early morning) prayers.
Armed men entered the area and opened fire at Soomro.
Soomro was in Sukkur to participate in a conference when the attack took place in the Khosa Goth area.
