Junaid likely to be in, Gul out of World Cup 2015 squad

TOP NEWS

Junaid, who has been struggling from a knee-injury, has taken six wickets in the three matches that KP Fighters has played but his fitness was the main reason behind his likely selection in the World Cup 2015 squad.

Junaid is leading KP Fighters, which has qualified for the summit clash of the event after winning all the three matches it has played yet.

The pitches in Australia and New Zealand are considered friendly for bowlers, and a fully fit and in form Junaid Khan can boost Pakistan’s chances.

Selectors have said that Junaid has proved his fitness during the ongoing Pentangular Cup and is likely to find his place in the final fifteen World Cup squad. The ICC deadline for the submission of the final squad is January 7.

Junaid has played in 18 Tests and 48 ODIs for Pakistan.

Although an ideal bowler in conditions like Down Under, experienced pacer Umar Gul has failed to prove his fitness in the ongoing tournament while representing Federal United.
